PRODUCT
lancome ombre absolue in radiant smoothing

PRICE
$54.00 | The Bay

THOUGHTS
Receiving this eyeshadow palette as a gift, I was excited about the high-end luxury that Lancome always delivers. However, the colours included two finishes (shimmery and matte) jade, were not ones I would’ve chosen. The two finishes of ivory that the palette included however, I adored. I don’t wear eyeshadow on the daily, so when I do for an event, I need colours that will satisfy the occasion, something I doubted this palette could do.

USAGE
The first thing I noticed when I applied these eyeshadows was the texture. Despite being a shadow, they possessed a wonderfully creamy feeling, which I enjoy. They worked almost in layers – one sweep of shadow provided light colour, several sweeps intensified the colour. Personally, I feel as though this feature implies high-end shadow versus low-end ones with screaming opaqueness. Contrary to when I first received the palette, I immediately fell in love with the colours upon wearing. Not only are they great stand-alone colours, meaning wearing the colours individually is nice enough, when worn all together, they provide a beautiful look. On top of all of this, when I wore the shadows with eye primer, they endured a heavy night of sweating, which frankly I did not expect – but greatly appreciated.

VERDICT
Overall, I can’t say one bad thing about the actual product. Colours: love. Texture: love. Quality: love. A slight improvement that I can recommend would be the packaging. Although the shadows are encased in the classic Lancome look, I feel as though if the case was done with a little extra oomph, it would grab the attention of first-time users, like myself, immediately. However, this is only a minor downside which really has no consequence on the product. In conclusion, I dig this product.
